Champagne Year

Some lovely film photos my friend Alex snapped of my friend Melanie and I over a few recent outings. Be sure to check out his photography page, he's brilliant!

My week.

Part one: I saw my favorite band, MuteMath, in concert for the third time. This time was exceptional
for a few different reasons. Reason number one is that they played an afternoon show at a dinky local record store (first photo). It was so tiny and wonderful and I finally got to meet them all and chat for a while. They blew me away with their realness. <3 I have seen so many shows but without question would say MuteMath has been and continues to be the best live show I could recommend.
Record store show.

We went on a picnic before the concert.

Me and my sister with the band.

Their entrance through the crowd.

Part two: I celebrated my 20th birthday by having a fancy little dessert outting with some of my favorites. Here are a few photos we snapped during our evening at the Broadmoor hotel in Colorado Springs.

Part 3: I played a show this weekend. I opened for an all day festival full of amazing talents I had never heard before! Playing a show at 10:30 on a Sunday morning was definitely a first and totally worth it. Here's a photo someone snapped.

You're the Glitter In the Dark.

Hello!

Here are a few photos from a late night excursion I took with my dear friend Esther. This month marks our 11th year of friendship (definitely worth celebrating)! Starlight picnics and dancing on tables seemed like the right thing to do. Everything either of us is wearing is from Goodwill!

I'll write more soon.

What Me Worry

Here are a few pictures from a photo shoot I modeled in for the very talented Josh Eddings. He was wanting to build his portfolio and I had been toying with the concept for this shoot. Luckily our thoughts collided and we could make it happen! I wanted to capture the freedom of solitude. Let me know your thoughts or the story these photos tell you.

Be kind to yourself.

Hello internet.

As I sit here composing this first post of my new blog, I'm listing to She & Him. Maybe you like them? I'd love to know. I feel it's only right to listen to them while the weather is staring to get brisk and... Fall-ish. I should probably tell you a few general things about myself to get the boring part out of the way. I'm 19 (well, 20 next week). I live in Colorado. I've been out of high school three years this December and I've never gone to college. I started doing some modeling the Spring of 2010 which launched me into my love for the entertainment industry as a whole. I've always loved picking out clothes at thrift stores and doing something amazing with them. I've always loved singing and playing music and began writing my own music in 2008. I had never seen these as anything more than hobbies until I graduated and realized I had to figure out what the heck I wanted to do with my life. I'm a person who likes to defy the status quo and make my way unconventionally. My journey has been beautiful, broken, fun, disappointing, full of curveballs and filled with wonderful people. I'm guessing a lot of those verbs describe a lot of our stories, but that's why I ended it with an emphasis on the people. My heart is for relationships over occupations any day. So yes, I know a bit more of where I want to go personally, and I'm making my way there-- but if each day I get to share something valuable with another human, my life is a success. That's why I'm writing this now, if I can share something worthwhile with you than this blog is worth my time. I will soon decide on a day to post every week. I will post at least once a week. Excited to see what comes next! Thanks for reading.
